There are objects that don’t simply sit on a shelf — they carry the weight of private ceremonies and quiet reflection.

This handsome double-sided Royal Arch Masonic jewel is one such piece. Worn by a Companion who had been exalted into the Holy Royal Arch — the beautiful and mysterious degree that completes the story begun in the Craft lodges — it contains in miniature the central symbols and ethical obligations of the Order.

One face bears the ancient challenge: “SI TALIA JUNGERE POSSIS SIT TIBI SCIRE SATIS” (“If thou canst join these things together, it is enough for thee to know.”)

The reverse carries the noble triad: “DEO REGI ET FRATRIBUS HONOR FIDELITAS BENEVOLENTIA” (“To God, the King, and the Brethren — Honour, Fidelity, and Benevolence.”)

Between the two concentric circles sits the hexagram enclosing the All-Seeing Eye, while the Triple Tau — the grand emblem of Royal Arch Masonry — hangs at the base. The jewel retains its original white ribbon and ornate gilt suspension bar.

We acquired this example as part of a small collection of fraternal regalia. It shows honest wear consistent with careful use over many decades, yet remains structurally sound and fully legible. No maker’s mark is present — a common feature on many mid-20th-century British examples of this type.

A genuine and evocative piece of British Masonic history, perfect for collectors of fraternal regalia, students of symbolism, or anyone who appreciates objects that once played a quiet but meaningful role in the lives of others.
