The book is presented in full burgundy goatskin leather with gold and black foil blocking, all edges gilt, and housed in its original maroon slipcase. It is the kind of volume you pick up once and immediately understand why people collect Folio Society editions.

Signed and numbered by illustrator Roman Pisarev on the original etching and frontispiece — making each copy uniquely his own. The edition features 11 black and white line drawings throughout, plus the exclusive Pisarev etching. The translation is by William Barrow, with an introduction by George MacDonald Fraser.

Condition: Fine to near fine throughout. The interior is pristine, the leather binding remains vibrant and supple, and the slipcase shows only the lightest shelf wear consistent with careful storage. A beautifully preserved example of one of Folio's most sought after limited editions.
